Allegra C. Kincaid

Allegra C. Kincaid

Allegra C. Kincaid is an estate planning attorney at Kincaid Law KC, LLC, where she advises individuals, families, and business owners on the design and implementation of thoughtful, effective estate plans. Her practice focuses on helping clients preserve wealth, protect loved ones, and create plans that function smoothly in real-world administration.

Allegra brings a distinctive perspective to her planning practice through her extensive background in trust and estate administration as well as real estate. Prior to joining Kincaid Law KC, she served as a vice president and trust officer with a leading independent trust company, where she administered complex trusts for high-net-worth and multi-generational families, gained substantial experience in both commercial and residential real estate matters, and guided families through the specialized supports available for family members with disabilities. This experience allows her to anticipate the practical challenges that can arise after a plan is signed—and to structure plans that are clear, efficient, and built to work when they are needed most. She routinely considers trustee selection, distribution standards, tax implications, real estate holdings, and administrative efficiency as part of the planning process, helping clients avoid common pitfalls that can undermine otherwise well-drafted documents.

Her practice includes revocable and irrevocable trust planning, incapacity planning (including powers of attorney and healthcare directives), probate avoidance planning, charitable planning, real estate matters (both commercial and residential), and specialized planning for families with unique considerations, including special and supplemental needs trusts. Allegra is particularly skilled at guiding clients through sensitive family dynamics and helping them make confident, informed decisions about the future. She takes a collaborative approach, frequently working alongside financial advisors, fiduciaries, accountants, and other professionals to ensure each client’s plan is aligned with the client’s overall financial and legacy goals.

Allegra earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. She wrote “Qualified Charitable Distributions: How To Use Your IRA To Give”, an article published in the September 2022 edition of Hope Matters, the newsletter for Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Allegra is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas and is actively involved in the Kansas City estate planning community.

From a young age, Allegra has supported her community through volunteering and involvement in a variety of charitable causes. Throughout her professional career, she has served on the Notre Dame de Sion Finance Committee, Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph Planned Giving Council, and the Police Athletic League Junior Board. She is a current member of the Estate Planning Society of Kansas City as well as the Johnson County Bar Association. Her commitment to service reflects a deeply held belief that a meaningful legal practice extends beyond the office and into the broader community she calls home.
